Coaching and mentoring

Supporting those who support
Nurture Space is committed to Supporting those who Support.
Often, support staff in schools are asked to work with children with the most challenging needs. Whilst support staff have a vast range of skills, knowledge and experience, working with challenging children can be a 'lonely job' and staff can sometimes feel as though they would like more support.
Through our bespoke mentoring and coaching, Nurture Space can offer a program of support and development for individual staff to help them in their roles and ultimately help the children that they work with.
What does this look like?

Every staff member will have different support needs. Some may need help in understanding the children that they are working with. Some may want a someone they can discuss ideas and strategies with to give them confidence in their role.
Coaching and mentoring includes:
-
Face to face and online coaching meetings. These are arranged to fit in with an individuals work pattern.
-
Observations of staff working in their roles with constructive feedback and support for areas staff feel they need support on.
-
Guidance in understanding how to unpick individual children's behaviour to understand them better.
-
Developing plans together, aimed at working effectively with individual children.
At Nurture Space we can develop a bespoke package of support in the form of coaching and mentoring, for individual staff. This can support performance management targets and professional development as well as ensure that children get the best support possible from your staff.
